A concept imagining a collaboration between Hermès and Bialetti is making rounds online. Designed by Jane Morelli, this isn’t an official product but a design exploration.
The concept reimagines the iconic Moka Express, originally introduced by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933, a product that changed how people made coffee at home.
Morelli keeps that structure intact but layers it with Hermès’ heritage. The concept was created to celebrate the Year of the Horse, tying directly into Hermès’ origins as a saddlery and harness workshop. The horse has always been central to the brand’s identity, even reflected in its carriage logo.
The moka pot body is imagined in a deep burgundy-orange tone, finished with a cream horse silhouette. The lid handle becomes a sculpted three-dimensional horse. The side handle shifts to a cognac brown, referencing Hermès’ leather craftsmanship.
The espresso cup follows the same idea. A horse-head-shaped handle curves into a tail, while the base subtly echoes a horseshoe form. Even the spoon placement is considered within the design language.
The packaging completes the experience. The set sits inside a walnut wood box lined with cream fabric, with the collaboration name engraved inside. The unboxing is treated as a ritual.
